Teen Adventure Camp

REGULAR TEEN CAMP:

(Ages 13-18) Our ‘Regular’ Camps have been designed and improved for many years to focus on the climber with little or no previous climbing experience. You will learn all aspects of climbing and have a host of new adventures! These programs are small, personal camps where you will meet lifelong friends and climb amazing rock in a wonderful setting.

SENIOR ADVANCED CAMPS:

(Ages 14-18) Our Senior Programs are advanced camps for teen climbers with more experience under their belt. This camp will focus on higher end climbing techniques allowing climbers to push their boundaries and skill sets. Climbers will set personal goals and be given the opportunity to reach them with 1:1 guidance and coaching. This program is designed for our returning campers mainly, but first year VA climbers with more experience can enroll. Camp also includes kayaking, caving, hiking, and more!

MEALS

Overnight campers join the leaders in preparing delicious, healthy camp meals. Vegetarian options are available as well. Sample evening meals include pasta with sauce and salad, vegetable stir fry w/chicken side.

MEETING / PICK UP LOCATIONS

These camps meet on the first day at Camp Aero-Ridge- Union Center, WI, or Hidden Pines Adventure Center near Lake Delton, WI . Meeting time on the first day is 9:00 a.m. Transportation to the climbing areas will be via camp vehicle(unless otherwise arranged). Pick up will be at the same location at 4 PM on the final day or Devil’s Lake SP based on actual schedule.

LODGING

All campers will stay at our private Camp Aero-Ridge log cabin or at Hidden Pines center in tents. The cabin is complete with foosball, basketball, pool table, air hockey, hiking and ATV Trails. Nightly campfires build fellowship and friendships that last a lifetime.

TEEN ADVENTURE CAMP INCLUDES (Tuition is just $699)

  • Instruction by Professional Climbing Guides
  • 24 hour supervision by experienced staff
  • Transportation during the camp
  • 4 nights of lodging at our cabin or in tents at Hidden Pines (Monday-Friday am)
  • 5 days of climbing, kayaking, caving, and More!
  • All meals during the camp(snacks available for purchase by store account)
  • 5 camper to 1 Climbing Guide ratio
  • Use of all technical climbing equipment (helmet, climbing shoes, harness, hardware, ropes)
  • A Climbing chalk bag and a headlamp that are yours to keep.

 

Application Process:

There is a $ 50 administration fee which covers processing costs and must accompany your application form. This non-refundable, non-transferable fee is not part of your tuition. Your $350 tuition deposit is due along with the $50 administration fee and must accompany your completed application. The tuition deposit holds your space for the Teen Adventure Camp and is credited towards your total tuition. Your full tuition is due 60 days in advance of camp start date. If you are applying within 60 days of Teen Adventure Camp start, your full tuition is due immediately. All payments must be in US funds. We accept personal checks or at Pay Pal. You will not be sent a receipt. Please use your canceled check or credit card statement as your receipt. Once we receive your completed application form, tuition deposit and application fee, we will send you a confirmation packet that will confirm enrollment date(s), directions/map, packing list, medical forms, liability release and consent forms, and informational questionnaire for you to fill out and return for review.

• Day pack – appx 30L (1800 ci) • Shorts
• Backpack or duffel bag large enough to hold all your gear • 2 tee shirts
• 20 – 30 degree sleeping bag • Rain jacket and pants
• 72” x 24” ground pad or inflatable pad such as ThermaRest • Swimsuit
• Crazy Creek camp chair (optional) • Towel
• 2 one-quart water bottles • Headlamp or flashlight (extra batteries)
• Hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers • Journaling supplies (optional)
• Insulating inner layer of clothing such as polypropylene • Sunscreen / lip balm
• Insulating middle layer of clothing such as fleece or wool • Insect repellent
• Lightweight, loose fitting long pants that dry quickly • Unbreakable cup, bowl, spoon and fork
• Warm socks (wool) • Toilet kit (toothbrush, comb, etc)
• Hat • Camera if you want

 

How To Book Your Camp Session

To enroll in one of our Teen Camps just e-mail us and we will send you the enrollment form. For each camper/applicant fill out an additional form, this is to ensure we have detailed information on each applicant. Vertical Adventure Guides will only receive and accept complete online applications with a credit card deposit or payment. We accept Check by Mail or Pay Pal for deposits and payments. Please contact us for our mailing address. For our Teen Camp Programs 50% deposit is due on booking, $100 of which is non refundable. Full payment is due 30 days prior to start date. No refunds given for cancellations after 30 days prior to program start date, you will be charged for the full amount if you cancel/reschedule within 30 days.

CLIMBING IS INHERENTLY DANGEROUS!

It is impossible to eliminate all risks associated with climbing. Our goal is to minimize your risk, but ultimately you must assume full responsibility for your participation by signing a liability release form.
